Part-Time Caretaker / Maintenance Person
Dannevirke Based
Te Tahua o Rangitane are seeking a part-time Caretaker/Maintenance Person to maintain our properties and support our teams working across Tararua.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, is physically fit, can demonstrate initiative, have strong communication skills, be a team player and take pride in their work.
Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities:
Providing building and maintenance service for our properties across the Tararua District.
Machinery operation including ride-on mower, line trimmer, leaf blower, and chainsaw.
Waste management.
Cleaning and maintaining the property grounds and gardens.
Building warrant of fitness checks and record keeping.
Health and safety checks of grounds and property.
Tasks could include setting up of equipment and movement of equipment/ furniture as required.
Ngā pūkenga | What you will need to be successful:
Full New Zealand drivers’ licence.
Previous experience with either trade / serious DIY skills.
Understanding and commitment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to build strong working relationships with service users, staff and externally with suppliers and contractors.
Hours will be a minimum of 12 hours per week Monday to Friday (days/hours can be negotiated). Extra hours may be available by mutual agreement.
The role could be offered on either a contractor or employee basis.
Start date - as soon as possible – so if you are keen apply early.

We are looking to bring a paid part-time business mentor on board to assist local businesses and promote opportunities within our district.
